Dr. Shereen Oca Beilstein is an educational psychology researcher with interests in STEM education, developmental psychology, and learning sciences. With a background in education reporting and graduate training in developmental sciences, she is keenly aware of the variability in school resources and strives to contribute to research that enriches all learners’ experiences. At IWERC, Shereen leads projects focused on recruiting and retaining a diverse, high-quality educator workforce. She earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research explores the processes and contexts that support the development of students’ reasoning skills and mathematics knowledge, as well as teachers’ professional learning about mathematics instruction.
