DPI Ventures Unit

One objective of the Ventures Unit is to provide deep-tech-focused services to start-ups and mid-sized companies looking to grow.

Another objective of the Ventures Unit is to support university technology transfer and commercialization by:

  • Supporting offices of technology transfer in developing best practices across partners
  • Helping to facilitate DPI research grants (such as SBIR and STTR grants) in moving from research to commercialization more rapidly.

DPI complements existing Chicago tech incubators by focusing specifically on deep tech.

We provide a suite of services tailored to the needs of deep tech startups, including:

  • Office, laboratory and workshop space
  • Deep tech mentors and entrepreneurs in residence
  • Access to capital
  • Access to industry partners and/or customers

We assist startups housed within DPI and provide targeted added services to companies at peer incubators.

We assist and mentor mid-sized companies through more advanced growth phases.

Global Network

DPI’s academic research partners are recognized leaders in their fields, working together from Illinois and around the world.

Building a More Inclusive Tech Community

Through DPI’s Pritzker Tech Talent Lab, DPI is becoming a hive of technology activity, a place where companies, researchers and students can access smart people, advanced equipment and funding to turn their ideas into products and businesses.
