DPI Ventures Unit

One objective of the Ventures Unit is to provide deep-tech-focused services to start-ups and mid-sized companies looking to grow.

Another objective of the Ventures Unit is to support university technology transfer and commercialization by:

  • Supporting offices of technology transfer in developing best practices across partners
  • Helping to facilitate DPI research grants (such as SBIR and STTR grants) in moving from research to commercialization more rapidly.

Ecosystem

DPI complements existing Chicago tech incubators by focusing specifically on deep tech.


Services

We provide a suite of services tailored to the needs of deep tech startups, including:

  • Office, laboratory and workshop space
  • Deep tech mentors and entrepreneurs in residence
  • Access to capital
  • Access to industry partners and/or customers

Support

We assist startups housed within DPI and provide targeted added services to companies at peer incubators.


Mentorship

We assist and mentor mid-sized companies through more advanced growth phases.
