Carolina Veiga is a Postdoctoral Research Associate focused on developing the Environmental Justice using Urban Scalable Toolkit (e-JUST), a web-based toolkit that aids in exploring Earth science data and high-resolution climate model outputs related to air quality and heat in the Chicago metropolitan area. She is an Environmental Engineer and earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Federal Fluminense University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2023. During her doctoral studies, she made significant contributions to the field, including publishing two notable papers on data visualization techniques for analyzing numerical weather forecast ensembles, one of which received an honorable mention award.
