Dr. Ying Chen is an educational psychology researcher with expertise in measurement theory, psychometrics, STEM education, and rater-mediated assessment. Specializing in Measurement, Evaluation, Assessment, and Statistics, Ying’s current role at IWERC involves exploring the landscape, structure, and pathways of computer science education in Illinois. His research also focuses on analyzing statewide and higher education policies related to the equitable and responsible use of generative AI, as well as assessing teachers’ AI literacy. Before joining IWERC, Ying earned his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and an M.Ed. in Measurement, Evaluation, Assessment, and Statistics from the University of Illinois Chicago.
