Karl is the Associate Director of R&D Programs, working at the intersection of academia and the broader world to build connections and create value. Before joining DPI, he spent 18 years at Northwestern University conducting research on carbon nanomaterials. After a successful career supporting academics, students, government, and industry in materials science, he now applies his expertise to a diverse range of subjects for the University of Illinois System. Karl enjoys photography, gardening, and biking year-round.
