Biography
Anuj Tiwari is a visiting research associate at the Discovery Partners Institute, which is part of the University of Illinois System, and a visiting postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Water Research at Northwestern University. He holds a Ph.D. in geospatial technology from the Indian Institute of Technology. He received a master’s degree in spatial information technology and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering. His expertise combines data science, geospatial intelligence, satellite and UAV remote sensing, diagnostic medical imaging and public health. Dr. Tiwari’s research aims to foster actions that enhance health equity, increase resiliency, and ensure that marginalized communities are prepared for the health impacts of natural disasters and public health hazards. He has published more than 20 journal articles and conference papers. He is also a reviewer and guest editor for journals including, Elsevier Measurement, Springer Natural Hazard, Springer Earth Science Informatics, PLOS Climate, MDPI Remote Sensing, MDPI Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Cambridge University Press Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness.
