Summer Digital Scholars Academy – We're Going Virtual!

Digital Scholars Academy

DPI is partnering with the University of Illinois-Chicago CHANCE Program to create the Digital Scholars Academy, an intensive, five-week long program for high school juniors to run June 22-July 24, 2020. Building on the success of CHANCE’s summer STEM Academy, students can apply take one of two college-level UIC computer science courses (CS 100 and CS 111) – in addition to engineering and business tracks.

The program has been adapted to accommodate all virtual learning and the courses will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every day. In addition to coursework, students will participate in enriching and immersive learning experiences throughout the session that will connect into Chicago’s dynamic tech community and programming to support college and career readiness. This include virtual boardroom chats with leaders from entrepreneurs, technologists, business and civic leaders. The course is free. Support will also be provided for those in need of a device for e-learning.

The application deadline has been extended, but space is limited, so apply today!
